NASA have said that will be turning off the batteries of the Voyager I or II space probe this year.
These satellites are the furthest man-made objects in the universe at present. Ostensibly due to ignorance, monotony or budget cuts, someone in NASA surmised that it would be best to just turn them off.
I could understand that you might turn off the batteries if you wanted to preserve them so you could turn them back on again at a later stage. I can't understand it if the plan is just to turn them off and let them drift into oblivion. These craft don't need NASA's intervention for that, that's whats going to happen in 2025 when their nuclear batteries run out!! Tell NASA Obama says "no" to their reign of stupidity and that Voyager 1 & 2 should be kept going.
