Please save the USDA microbiological data program (MDP). This program test fresh produce (domestic and imports, conventional and organic) for pathogens. Grower groups hate the programs as if finds pathogens in our food supply and MDP notifies FDA who does recalls. This program is needed. USDA bowed to industry pressure and did not request funding for 2013 citing it didn't align with agency goals-ridiculous. Especially since Mrs O'bama campaigned to have fresh fruits and vegetable put into school lunches-this food needs testing! Good Agriculture practices and Haccp plans are no good without independant testing to verify they work. Protect Americans, Fund this valuable program.
