Soldiers who are killed in combat should be given a posthumous promotion to the next rank and pay grade. This would not only honor those that have voluntarily given their life for our country. All of my uncles and my father served in the military although I never did, I feel that in light of recent events this would be a great tribute to those lost during combat.
