Kids have Veterans Day off to spend time with those who served our country

Me and many of my fellow classmates have their mother or father serve to protect this great nation. And since we have had family serve we feel that we should get one day to honor their bravery and be by their side through the day. It also is a national holiday which makes me ask the question why we get Easter and Christmas off yet we don't get a day to appreciate the people that served and risked their lives to make us citizens safe
