Kiera Wilmot should be invited to come to the White House on October 19th for Astronomy Night along with Ahmed Muhammed.

Kiera Wilmot is a bright Florida teen interested in science, engineering and in the future joining the Air Force. In April of 2013 while a junior in her high school she was arrested after a science experiment went awry in her school's hallway causing a very small "pop" sound and some smoke. No one was injured as a result of this mishap but because of school "zero tolerance" policies along with the timing of the incident in the weeks after the Boston Marathon bombing, Ms. Wilmot was arrested and charged criminally for this incident. Fortunately she was later acquitted! However, this incident continues to affect her life even as she has successfully matriculated into college to study science. She has expressed an interest in attending the upcoming Astronomy Day and should be invited.
