Those representing us have not been where most of us are for most if not all of their adult lives.
I propose that each congressperson be required to become intimately educated about the most vulnerable and impactful issues by 'walking a mile in the shoes'of those living in poverty for no less than 2 of the numerous weeks they spend away from Washington DC each year.
They would be required to reside with a family or in a situation that mirrors the lifestyle of the median income in their respective districts.
