Label All Foods Containing Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO)

Created by A.M. on July 13, 2014

DHMO is found in nearly every cancer cell, can cause asphyxiation, and is a major component of acid rain. The synthesis of DHMO can involve hazardous chemicals, such as highly acidic and basic substances. DHMO is also an environmental risk, as it is miscible in water and found in rivers near major cities. Monsanto uses DHMO without abandon, from adding it to nutritional baths to using it as a cleansing agent.
Although thousands die from exposure DHMO every year, many still believe this chemical is “safe”. Many even consume it recreationally, and some estimates claim it one of the most widely consumed “substances” in America. Because of this, I feel that banning DHMO outright is not the best approach. Instead it is important that we inform the consumer, and let them make the right choice.
