Consumers of products deserve to know what we are putting into our bodies. Beer, Wine and Spirits should be labeled with ingredients and nutrition facts just as any other consumable product in the grocery store. They should also be labeled with a country of origin. This protects consumers in a variety of ways:
1) Allows people to avoid allergens which is an important consumer safety issue
2) Allows people to choose alcoholic beverages based on dietary restrictions they may have such as calorie restriction, kosher, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, avoiding genetically engineered ingredients, imported ingredients, etc.
Alcoholic beverages should have to follow the same rules as food and drinks for labeling including nutrition, ingredients, and the use of "natural" or "certified organic."
