When gunmen (alone or in groups) carry out acts of terror on college campuses, schools, public places or even against non-profit ventures, they are labeled as "domestic shooting incidents" or something similar. Suspects are often referred to as "lone gunmen".
In 2015 alone such acts have resulted in nearly 450 deaths and close to 1300 injuries)! [See: http://bit.ly/1MuHpVL] Even current US law (USA PATRIOT ACT, 2001) labels them as acts of "domestic terrorism".
These shootings are clearly terrorist acts and the perpetrators are terrorists.
We petition the administration & the media to change the way refer to such incidents. Perhaps this will deter gunmen from carrying out such acts in the future. It will also allow the public to be more aware of terrorism, in general.
