This petition, for the criminalization of displaying the Confederate Flag has its merits. As a black man, I believe that the 1st amendment hold some of our greatest freedoms as humans and more as Americans. However, just like one and not say "bomb" on an aeroplane, one should not fly the flag of a rebellion that took away the human rights of others, and often violence and abuse was not frowned upon when practiced on "2nd class citizens." For that reason and that reason alone it should be seen as an act of treason to fly this symbol of rebellion, and hate.
