There have been many studies showing that lane splitting is safer for both drivers and motorcyclists on the road. There are dangers to lane splitting, but it's much safer to do it. I would like to see lane splitting legal in all 50 states, as it is in California. Whether a speed limit for lane splitting is enforced or not is a separate issue. I don't condone splitting lanes above 15-20 mph as that starts to get extremely dangerous, but to ease congestion and prevent motorcycle accidents, lane splitting should be allowed at low speeds.
