Later school start for high school students

This petition is being put in place to create a later start time for public high schools nationwide at or after 8:00 a.m. There is scientific evidence that proves that high school students' brains are more awake and able to function better later in the morning. Test scores for schools who have an early start time lack compared to schools with later start times. A later nationwide start time would positively reflect on students' performance ability and attendance in school. We feel that making this a federal law would bring more attention to this matter and encourage multiple facets of society to explore how we can improve student performance in schools.
