Launch a full nonpartisan investigation into the IRS targeting of Conservative groups seeking tax exempt status.

Created by B.O. on May 21, 2013

One of the largest government agencies, the IRS admitted to targeting Conservative or Tea Party non-profit organizations who were filing for tax exempt status. This took place in several IRS locations across the US. The targeting involved asking inappropriate and lengthy questions with hundreds of pages back and forth asking views on certain issues, who the members affiliations were, what speakers they had, what books they read and what party donations were given. The process for approval of these groups often took years. The targeting began as early as the spring of 2011. This is in direct violation of the IRS operating as a nonpartisan agency and the first amendment rights that should protect all Americans and these groups from unfair scrutiny.
