The Jameis Winston rape accusation “investigation” has been widely recognized, by citizens from all political perspectives, as being wholly inadequate, if not intentionally mishandled. This concern should prompt an investigation by the Justice Department of the United States to determine whether the Tallahassee Police Department and Florida State University have violated federal law in their handling of the incident.
We, the undersigned, are concerned by what independent news organizations have discovered regarding the Jameis Winston rape accusation investigation. We call upon our Government, and the Justice Department specifically, to investigate the propriety of the handling of this investigation.
