We need a massive reinvestment in science. Scientific innovation has driven our country, from the light bulb to the microchip.
Over a decade, let's invest 1 trillion dollars more in funding scientific research and development. This is good science, and this is good fiscal policy.
When we fund scientific research, we get a return on our investment. Scholars from the Federal Reserve estimated the return on scientific investment as “ranging from 30% to over 100%.” Every penny we invest in science will pay itself off.
