Law Enforcement Oath of Honor ; Protecting the People

Created by F.J. on March 02, 2015

I am currently 17 years old, this is just my opinion. Cops swear on a oath, which is:
"On my honor,
I will never betray my badge,
my integrity, my character,
or the public trust.
I will always have
the courage to hold myself
and others accountable for our actions.
I will always uphold the constitution
and community I serve."

Law enforcement are not taught to shot and kill. They are taught to search for other alternatives and keep calm in dangerous situations. I don't think just because they have a badge, that they should be able to kill a innocent person and get away with it. If they are other alternatives, then they should take them. I feel like cops need to put themselves in others' shoes. We are all U.S. citizens. How many innocent poeple need to die before something happens?
