Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act

Created by S.R. on November 16, 2016

With the recent attacks on Law Enforcement and Correctional Officers, I would like to see the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (hereto referred to as LEOSA) policy be updated. I believe that the policy should clearly state that Correctional Officers/Jailers are included in this policy.I believe that if an officer is allowed to carry on duty anywhere in the United States that they should be able to “conceal” carry when off duty anywhere in the United States. With the exceptions of…
• Jails/Prisons.
• Mental Hospitals.
• Establishments where 51% or more of sales come from serving alcohol. Our officers are highly trained and they are sworn to serve and protect. That oath does not end when officers and jailers are off duty. Our officers should be just as able to protect their families.
