Law enforcement officers should be held to a higher accountability than citizens.

Created by H.S. on September 18, 2013

Law enforcement officers need to be held to a higher accountability than citizens because of their position of authority, and their arrest powers they have over citizens. Not only should penalties be more severe, but also zero tolerance for their employment as peacekeepers. If a law enforcement officer commits a crime, he should no longer be able to have authority over normal citizens. Law enforcement officers need to be the shining example of model American citizens. They need to set the example. There should be zero tolerance for perjury, abuse of authority, excessive use of force, and brutality. Also, if it is illegal for a citizen to lie to an officer, then it should be illegal for an officer to lie to a citizen. No more criminals with arrest powers!
