That law enforcement personnel be held to the same criminal and civil liabilities for their actions as regular citizens.

This petition requests that the Department of Justice remove the review of police maleficence from the internal hands of local/state/federal law enforcement organizations and place it fully within the purview of the county/state/federal court system, where law enforcement personnel will be held to the same legal and civil standards as regular citizens. We hold our military personnel to similar legal standards as citizens when they commit crimes in uniform, therefore the nation's various police departments should be held to the same standards while in the performance of their duties. If a police officer commits a crime against an individual without legal cause, they should be arrested, charged, jailed and tried for said offense, not suspended from duty pending a department review board.
