This petition requests that the Department of Justice remove the review of police maleficence from the internal hands of local/state/federal law enforcement organizations and place it fully within the purview of the county/state/federal court system, where law enforcement personnel will be held to the same legal and civil standards as regular citizens. We hold our military personnel to similar legal standards as citizens when they commit crimes in uniform, therefore the nation's various police departments and their officers should be held to the same standards If a police officer commits a crime against an individual without probable or legal cause, they should be arrested, charged, jailed and tried for said offense, not suspended from duty with pay pending a departmental review board.
