The United States shall recognize the rights of all living things, giving the natural world equal status to human beings. It would be legally bound to prioritize the wellbeing of its citizens and the natural world by developing policies that promote sustainability and renewable energy technologies. The law would require the adoption of consumption, behavior and conduct that are not degrading to nature and would serve to protect the livelihood of its people from the impacts of industry. The Law of Mother Earth includes the right to: maintain the integrity of life and natural processes; not have her cellular structure modified or genetically altered; pure water and clean air; be free of toxic and radioactive pollution; not be affected by development that affects the balance of ecosystems.
