Lawfully respect the rights and interests of Fannie, Freddie investors

Created by M.L. on March 12, 2014

Many retirement funds invest in GSEs, such as Fannie and Freddie. There are 78 million baby boomers edging toward retirement. We are outraged about the unprecedented "sweep" that takes all of the GSEs' profits and gives them to the government. The government's actions raise serious concerns, including whether these actions lawfully respect the rights and interests of all Americans. Our nation is the most attractive place in the world to invest partly because of our commitment to the rule of law.

After requiring $188 billion in infusions, Fannie and Freddie will by April have paid nearly $203 billion to the government in dividends. American taxpayers have been fully compensated. The GSE investors, such as the retirement funds should not be denied their fair share of any remaining value.
