Market forces alone are insufficient. Despite Nissan & Tesla Motors' impressive efforts, Big Oil bent the free market to successfully suppress and kill the EV over the last 100 years.
We mustn't underestimate their power to do so again.
Just as they rapidly retooled for mass production of weaponry in WWII, with pressure, Detroit may too rapidly produce an EV to mollify our current global triad emergency: Global Warming; looming global economic meltdown; Middle East entanglement.
Boycott guaranteed Civil Rights in the American South. Similarly, even if enacted by a small US population, it will guarantee the EV's speedy delivery and solve our most pressing challenges.
