Privately-funded elections results in corruption. All campaigns for political candidates should be restricted to debates, information about their stance on issues, public rallies and voting records. This would eliminate the need for politicians to seek financial support from corporations or the wealthy. Advertisements of any kind from or on behalf of politicians should be illegal. This would eliminate nasty campaign wars which create disgust and apathy towards the political system.
The president was elected to office on a message of "change in politics as usual". This one step would address the majority of the issues of the 99% (Occupy Movement) that are causing outrage in our country right now.
Mr. President, this one act could fulfill your promise to us and define your presidency.
