The US should adopt the metric system to ease trade, education, and scientific research. There are additional costs we bear converting our units of measure to metric and vice versa. The most glaring example was a $125 million dollar spacecraft lost due to a unit conversion problem. How many little and not-so-little errors are adding up on balance sheets all across science, business, and education?
Adopting the units of measure the vast majority of governments around the world use will being the US into the 20th century and reducing the friction we need to lead in business, science and education in the 21st century.
