Every time the USA has supported a coup, there has been blow-back that hurt our interests and national security.
How much more money, lives (military and civil) will it take for us to finally learn that when you support either side of a foreign internal conflict, you help a fraction of people while making the other fraction - our enemies?
All of this while doing little to actually improve the sociopolitical and economic circumstances of the region.
