Lead a national debate on war and the use of intelligence as they relate to civil rights and our Constitution.

Secrecy and espionage are needed to conduct government at times, but Washington should not take short cuts to protect us by setting aside the constitution. Even though many of us fear terrorist attacks, our will to be safe should also not nullify our rights. That inevitably leads to tyranny. So, to reduce the confusion and anger over drone assassinations of US citizens and the NSA programs, we need a national discussion; but it must be within a larger discussion of our protected rights.
This important conversation must be had in order to protect ourselves as citizens and to inform future Presidents and members of Congress of what is and isn't acceptable policy when protecting America. It will also set an example for the world and rebuild trust in our brand -- which is tarnished.
