Leagalize marijuana

I feel that marijuana should be publicly legalized. Cigarettes are just as harmful if not more and they are legal and you can get lung cancer from cigarrettes. One can die from alcohol poisining if one has consumed too much but marijuana is not legal. You can get turned down a job if they drug test because marijuana is considered a drug but one can fully function after consuming the substance. So therefore since it is not as harmful as alcohol and cigarettes I feel that it should be legal for the public to purchase.
