As Americans, we have the right to bear arms. This has been the way since the beginning of this country. Of course there are those who have lost that privilege, but for those of us who are law-abiding citizens we have the right to keep that privilege. Guns are inanimate objects. They do not think, they do not plot and they do not go around just to shoot people. The person holding the gun is responsible for the actions. What we need is gun education. Do mental health checks. When people go to gun shows, make it mandatory that the sellers turn in the names with purchase.
Just before the Holocaust, Hitler made everyone register their guns for "safety" reasons and eventually made them illegal for citizens so they had to turn them in. We do not want another Holocaust. Guns are our privilege.
