Leave all Tricare Benefits for Active Duty Members and Retirees alone.

Created by D.F. on March 19, 2013

Do not change the Armed Forces/Retirees Health Benefits. In the 80's members were promised when they retired, free medical coverage. This wasn't honored as they have been charged annual fees along w/ co-pays. Now that commitment will change as Retirees' annual premiums will go up from 30% to 78% in 1 year & active duty will pay for prescriptions. But, in 2012 DoD issued a request to reprogram $708 million from the Defense Health Program as "under-executed" Tricare funds & "are excess to Defense Health Program requirements & can be used for higher priority items w/ no impact to the program." In 2011 the Pentagon & Congress transferred $500 million from the Tricare Account in a similar move. The money's been there to continue the promise. Honor it. Don't change today's health benefits.
