During the campaign there was little to no mention of gun control. Although tragedy struck after the election, the gun control issue should be treated unemotionally and we should use statistics and past experiences to determine our course of action.
Many moderate republicans, democrats and independents voted for Obama based on the focal points of the election such as climate change and the economy, NOT gun control. In fact many moderate voters would have been turned away based on this issue alone.
We the people petition the Obama administration to NOT cash in political capital on non-sensical gun control bills, and focus your attention where you said you would.
