Leave The Minimum Wage At $7.25

Minimum Wage Increase + The Inevitable Laying Off Of Workers Due To The Raise In Pay = Trouble

The increase of the minimum wage will not end the poverty problem in America. Rather, the poverty percentage in America will head upward. The raising of the minimum wage is a good idea in theory, and I respect President Obama for what he is trying to achieve, however, I feel this plan will fail when it has had a dose of reality added to it. The reason being because the raise in minimum wage will cost employers more of their profit. Sadly, to prevent this they will start cutting people out of their workforce. Thus, leading to more unemployment and poverty. As I stated before I respect President Obama for trying to take a step in ending the poverty problem, but sadly he is stepping backwards.
