Roberto Rodriguez, Special Assistant to the President for Education Policy, in a response to a petition titled, Taking Action to Reduce the Burden of Student Loan Debt, said, "In addition to capping student loan repayments, the Healthcare and Education Reconciliation Act helped increase the maximum Pell Grant to $5,500 and saved taxpayers billions by cutting out banks as middlemen."
How are you helping us continue education and addressing poverty simultaneously if you're changing the qualifications to receive Pell Grants and decreasing the payout from 15 months to 12 months?
Don't say education is important, and then prevent our failing economy from being able to obtain one.
