Seeing how school shootings and other unacceptable school violence has no direct correlation to specific religious practices not being forced upon students.
I hereby move we maintain the current standing that school prayer be an individual choice and not a faculty lead directive as suggested in another current petition (Put Prayer Back in School). In that petition it is suggested that an obvious Christian prayer that was used until 1963 be reinstated in public schools. To do this would be seen as the government endorsing a particular religion which would be a direct violation of the 1st Amendment and force the religious views of one group onto another at a time in life when the mind is very impressionable and the desire to "fit in" is at its highest.
