Legal liability of mass media agencies disclosing liscenced gun owner information in a public display.

This petition implores the President and lawmakers to hold media organizations or individuals legally liable should said parties disclose publicly available information on legally registered gun owners on an individual or collective basis in a public display, resulting in compromising the safety of aforementioned legally abiding citizens. It is our belief that the disclosure of the name(s) and/or address(es) of registered gun ownership in a public display introduces criminals to an opportunity they may not have discovered or realized otherwise. We believe that a portion of the literal and punative damages would be the liability of those responsible for making a public display of the legal gun owners, as those possessing illegal firearms obtained them directly or by proxy from theft.
