So many lives are ruined by getting thrown into jail for using a God given, organically grown plant that can be proven as both a mental and physical ,medical substance. If cannabis would be legal for purchase and public usage it could greatly impact the community in more than one way; it would lower the percentage of misdemeanors in cannabis related incidents, it would increase the amount of money the state is already making by taxing the product slightly which could help the nation get out of debt little by little , while also aiding people who self medicate for their own mental illnesses such as depression , anxiety ,etc..if cannabis is made legal for public purchase and usage it would benefit the community in a positive way.
