Colorado, along with the other states having legalized Cannabis, have been the best examples of the fruits of pragmatism and optimism. The income from the unique tax on Cannabis could provide the funding needed for other social programs, from state tuition and health subsidies, to building more schools and hospitals, roads and bridges, and/or more opportunities to lift poor communities out of poverty. Meanwhile, this could even free more resources for law enforcement. With recent studies showing Cannabis' desirable medical uses from Epilepsy, Alzheimers, and PTSD to Chronic Pain, the wide range of medical applications are certainly well-documented. And finally by removing black markets for Cannabis, we can create safer, healthier, and wealthier communities all around the United States.
