The official White House response went to say about the negative effects of marijuna and used that as a reason to ignore the people. If they want to claim that marijuna is so harmful how can the goverment continue to support cigarettes which legally contributes to the death of 100's every year. They argue that a brain is still forming into a persons 20's but the legal drinking age is 21. Alcohol related deaths and emergency room visits are by far more numerous then marijuna .
You can't argue for keeping something that has proven medicinal value from the people that need it under the guise of it being bad for you when you legally sell and tax ciggarettes that have and will continue to kill.
