The state of Colorado created $6.17 million in tax revenue in the first 2 months of marijuana legalization. Since then, $40 million from the same tax has gone to creating and improving schools.
In addition to helping the education system, the marijuana industry has created nearly 10,000 jobs in that state, which strengthened our economy. Another economic benefit of legalization would be the $17.4 billion saved from not needing to enforce its illegal status.
