The federal government should legalize abortion in all three trimesters rather than having a multitude of laws that put certain groups of women in a disadvantaged position.
Women who give birth to unwanted children may put their child up for adoption, which would increase stress on America's failing foster care system. In addition, women who are forced to give birth are likely to rely on social services to support their unwanted children. Furthermore, the world has a population of 7 billion, which continues to grow, and there is a point at which the world's resources simply won't be able to sustain everybody.
For not only these reasons, legalization of abortion in all three trimesters would also prevent restrictive anti-abortion bills.
