Illegalization of drugs does not prevent usage, and the war on drugs is a total failure. Cannabis, among other light drugs are completely fine if used by a responsible adult, and the government violates the Bill of Rights by banning these narcotics. The "Gateway Drug Theory" has been proven wrong by many scientific sources, and the government shouldn't be parenting it's citizens regardless. It saddens me to see sick people arrested for using marijuana to ease their horrific pain. This is not humane. People who abuse heavy drugs, commit crimes or harm family members must be forced into rehabilitation for their addiction, not sent to prison. Prison will only make the matter worse, as well as encourage the subject to commit more crime when they leave.
