Legalizing the possession, sale, cultivation, use of marijuana, opium (opiates) is within out 1st Constitutional right (Protects freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of the press, as well as the right to assemble, right to protest, and petition the government). It would cut down on so much of the prison population and murders carried out because it's an illegal trade. The government could come pretty close to getting out of debt with the taxing they could put on it. And I know it's my constitutional right to put in my body what I want to. No government should be able to deem a plant for human consumption illegal. I also think it would stop most, if not all of the "experimented" drugs that are doing much harm to out society.
