Mr. President, please sign an executive order immediately repealing the federal prohibition of marijuana for medical use as prescribed by a licensed medical doctor.
The intention of this petition is to legalize marijuana for medical use on the national level, regulate it, and tax it as a revenue similarly to other medicines regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. We also request that you prohibit states from banning the medical use of marijuana and punishing those who use it under the care of a doctor.
The American Academy of Family Physicians, American Nurses Association, American Preventive Medical Association, American Public Health Association, and the New England Journal of Medicine, among others, all endorse the use of medical marijuana.
