Legalize and Tax Cannabis Similar to Colorado and Washington.

The legalization and taxation of cannabis would help with many issues facing our country today, the biggest being the financial crisis we’re facing as a nation. Cannabis could be turned into a source of revenue by taxation rather than a huge financial burden. Tax revenue can be used to fund education and drug prevention. This would allow the DEA to focus on harder drugs and allow law enforcement to focus on other crimes. Mexican cartels would be severely impacted, since American produced cannabis that is quality tested would be much more desirable than low quality “marijuana” that is smuggled in illegally by violent criminals. We could also take advantage of hemp as a natural resource. We need to join our leaders in this reform and take a new approach in order to protect today’s youth.
