Unfortunately, many people suffer from life-threatening incurable diseases, incurable illnesses such as cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders. Instead of letting people suffer through endless pain and hospital visits, we can offer them a way to die on their own terms, with dignity.
California recently passed a legislation legalizing assisted-suicide, now joining the states of Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington with similar legislations. This should be legalized on a federal level to provide people across the US with the right to die.
If we can offer animals a peaceful way to die, why can't we offer the same compassionate death to humans?
