The petition is to propose that the production, sale, and consumption of cannabis be legalized for both medical and recreational use for all persons 21 yrs. of age and older. However, any person below the age of 21 suffering from a terminal disease shall be allowed use of medical cannabis. Also, if the person suffering is below the age of 18, they may only use cannabis medically with the consent of a parent or guardian. Any person under the age of 21 that is not terminally ill caught ingesting marijuana shall not be criminally punished, but rather given a class on the possible long term effects of cannabis use on a person's developing brain. Cannabis should be legalized not only because it is useful and safe, but because it will create jobs and put more money into the U.S. economy.
