Once legal and a major cash crop in the United (some consider it to have more applications than cotton), cannabis is currently illegal on the federal level in the United States. Studies over recent years have discovered a number of medical applications in which cannabis can be utilized, including glaucoma, seizures and epilepsy, autism, and a number of other health problems. Research has proven that smoking cannabis does not decrease the number of brain cells, is a great pain reliever and anti-depressant, and is slowly becoming more understood as research (although limited due to the illegality of the plant) disproves more and more misunderstandings behind the actual effects of the plant's cannabanoids on the human body.
