We the people have already decided that the war on drugs has been a major failure. The prohibition of cannabis has been with similar success to the prohibition of alcohol. Prohibition has created a major increase in organized crime, and has been a monumental waste of time and money for our law enforcement. Cannabis is currently scheduled as a class 1 narcotic, meaning there are no medical benefits and a high chance for abuse. Multiple scientific studies have and will continue to show that this description is false. I understand the president's view on the subject but, there is no reason to reject legalization. According to the CDC tobacco causes 5 million deaths per year worldwide. However, there has NEVER been a single recorded death from cannabis EVER.
Please fix this broken law.
