A complex set of federal legal restrictions currently regulates clinical AND public health research on cannabis in the United States. The federal agencies involved in this regulation have produced a monopoly on cannabis research in this country and greatly restricted a) the legality of performing research on cannabis, b) the number of research subjects involved, c) the quality of the cannabis involved in the research, and has thus subverted the course of said research (produced bias) and has produced results in keeping with the government's assertion that cannabis has no medical value. Obama, you need to LEGALIZE this research - it should be subject to the same stringent restrictions as all other research, but the cruel and unusual restrictions which are currently in place.
