Legalize the commercial sale and trade of the Asian Arowana.

Created by J.S. on March 14, 2014

We are fighting to lift the ban on the sale and trade of Asian Arowanas(Scleropages formosus). Although they are still endangered in the wild, C.I.T.E.S has allowed the sale of captive bread, microchipped, and documented Arowanas since 1990. Captive breed Arowanas have taken the pressure of the need of wild caught animals and black market trading. We are asking that the U.S. Government allow the importation of microchip captive breed Asian Arowanas. We do recognize the need to keep the current ban on wild caught Asian Arowana. We do understand there is a difference between wild caught and captive breed Asian Arowanas. We respect the current ban on wild caught Asian Arowanas and support it.
